good cluck!

The Skidmore Summer Session started on May 31 and our Basic Ceramics class began with some 'field work'! A very generous member of the Art Dept facultyTrish Lyell brought her chickens on campus for their figure  modeling debut. Harriet (the brown one was quite undone by the whole experience and instigated masterful escapes from the pen. After she and her sister ran off into the woods we had to bring them inside for fear they would travel too far. The jumping, flapping and fluttering chickens gave each student plenty of inspiration for their 'chicken pot'. Once home Trish found out what the ruckus was all about...all three of our hen friends bolted from the car to the nesting roost and each one laid an egg!!
